Youth council to host first disco night
Hindmarsh Shire Youth Councillors are set to launch their first disco event of the year with a glamorous twist.
The upcoming ‘Celebrity Disco Night’ invites young people to dress as their favourite celebrities and strut down the red carpet when they arrive at Jeparit Memorial Town Hall tonight Friday, May 23, from 6.30pm to 9pm.
The themed evening, organised by the Hindmarsh Shire Youth Council, targets youth aged 12 to 18 and promises a safe, entertaining, and fully supervised experience.
All FReeZA events are drug, alcohol, smoke, and vape free, with no pass outs permitted throughout the night.
To make the event accessible, return buses with adult supervision will run from Nhill, Rainbow, and Dimboola.
To secure a seat, registration is required by 5pm on Wednesday, May 21.
Hindmarsh Shire Council mayor Ron Ismay praised the initiative and encouraged youth to attend.
“This is another fantastic initiative by the Hindmarsh Youth Council, and judging by past events and functions,” he said.
“I am sure it will be a great night for the shire’s youth.
“I encourage our youth to attend and to support our Youth Council.”
