Wimmera cricketers claim country cup victory with the Western Waves
Five HCA players represented the region at the tournament.

Some of Wimmera's best junior cricketers have earned their first piece of silverware for the summer, winning the Cricket Victoria Country Cup grand final.
The Western Waves under-16 boys team - featuring Jobe Dickinson, Harrison Hoffmann, Phoenix Hopper, Luke Miller and Hugh Weidemann - defeated the Gippsland Pride by 25 runs in the grand final on Thursday, December 19.
The Waves played six matches across the carnival with a mixture of one-day and T20 matches.
The squad's performance was strong. They finished with five wins and a loss against opposition from Central Highlands, Northern Rivers, North East, and Mallee Murray.
Luke Miller stood out at the top of the order with 149 runs with two half-centuries.
He also took eight wickets with the ball in hand.
Hoffmann added 94 runs in his four times at the creases with a high score of 34.
He also combined with Dickinson for a 58-run partnership for the ninth wicket in the grand final.

Dickinson himself had a high score of 31 in the T20 match against Northern Rivers.
While both Hopper and Weidemann made an impact with the ball. The duo took three wickets each.
Dickinson, Hoffmann, Miller and Weidemann will once again be teammates in the HCA's under-17 country week squad in January 2025.
