Warracknabeal Show president's message
I am looking forward to this year's Warracknabeal A&P Society Show. The 136th show - a real milestone - will be held on Thursday October 10.
The showgrounds have been tidied up by our members who have raked, cut up fallen tree limbs, repaired and painted.
The shire has assisted greatly by ensuring the grounds are regularly mown, keeping the grass at an even and consistent length.
This year we hope to encourage more exhibitors to enter the show and we would like to see many first-time exhibitors.
We encourage everyone to enter an exhibit - if you are unsure or nervous, get in touch with our secretary.
He will put you in touch with a section steward who can explain to you what is required and provide you with tips and encouragement.
The exhibits make the show and everyone is good at something so please consider participating.
The more exhibits we have, the more interesting the show is and the greater our sense of community.
We have put considerable effort into securing our vendors for the show with plenty of variation so there should be something available to meet everyone’s tastes and dietary requirements.
There is a luncheon at the racecourse with a courtesy bus which travels between the Young Farmer’s Pavilion and the racecourse.
There will be the animal nursery, shearing displays, a sheaf toss, Warracknabeal and District Band, Apex Pick-A-Box, a vintage car display and other attractions.
We are working with the Showman’s Guild to provide a greater variety of amusements for all ages so there should be something for everyone.

I must thank the members of the A&P society for their help, especially the secretary and treasurer who make my job easy.
