Warracknabeal Juniors set to kick off 2024

For the first time in many years the Warracknabeal District Junior Cricket Association will play an interleague game against local neighbours Ouyen Cricket Association.

The game has been scheduled to be played on Sunday, February 11, at Hopetoun starting at 10am. The one day game will comprise 40 overs per team with all usual one day game restrictions.

WDJCA President Jack Vanderburg has been working with secretary Graeme Holland and Ouyen representative Nick Vine to make the inaugural “Mallee Cup” junior game come to fruition.

The Warracknabeal team Squad of 13 players was selected late last year. Congratulations to the following players who will don the WDJCA shirt for the first time.

Jackson Moore said he was excited to be named captain.

"It feels pretty good and I am excited. I am looking forward to seeing how we go." he said.

There is a training planed for this interleague squad that will take place at the Brim Recreation Reserve nets on Tuesday, February 6, starting at 4.30pm. This will be followed by a BBQ Tea and presentation of official player shirts.

The regular junior season will reconvene on Saturday February 3 at the Hopetoun ground.
