Warrack Dux wishes to become future doctor
Warracknabeal Secondary College Dux Ava Koschitzke is now one step closer to her dream of becoming a doctor, a goal she has nurtured throughout her studies.
Ava achieved an impressive ATAR of 91.95 and was pretty shocked upon seeing her Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE) results.
“I am pretty excited and was really shocked in the morning when I checked the results online,” she said.
“My mum was also very excited.
“I aim to do my best and was hoping to be a Dux.”
With her sights set on a Bachelor of Science, likely at a university in Geelong, Ava plans to use the degree as a stepping stone toward entering the medical field.
“I want to be a doctor and that is the reason I wanna do Bachelor of Science and see how I go,” she said.
“I’m really not sure at the moment, but I have a plan to go into medicine after that.
“I think I want to decide between Melbourne and Geelong, but it would probably be Geelong.”
Ava described her School-assessed Coursework (SAC) performance as a high and her exam stress as the low during her school year.
She advised future students to ask plenty of questions to their teachers to achieve success.
“Ask lot and lot of questions until your teacher gets annoyed. It really helps,” she said.
“Pick a part of their brains.”
Ava acknowledged the unwavering support of the school and her time at the WSC.
“I’m just grateful to WSC for supporting me and very happy with how I’ve gone,” she said.
“Being with friends is my favourite memory of the school. Good to be with them everyday.”
Ava’s journey toward a medical career is only just beginning, and her community eagerly anticipates her achieving her goals.
The Victorian VCE results were released early on Wednesday, and the state’s overall completion rate was 97.4 per cent.
