WAG AGM just around the corner
The Warracknabeal Action Group will hold its AGM on Tuesday, February 3 at 6pm at The Local 165 Cafe and Bar.
Business owners, employees, and community members are encouraged to attend for updates on housing in the town.
Special guest speakers will include Yarriambiack Shire Council chief executive Tammy Smith, who will provide insights from the council's perspective.
She will be joined by E2E Growth Consultants Directors Ashu Goel and Raj Goel, who will share their expertise on economic and housing development in and around our Shire, with particular focus on Warracknabeal.
"They look forward to sharing key updates on how council is working with E2E Growth to address the housing shortage within Yarriambiack Shire," Ms Smith said.
E2E builds quality homes that meet the needs of unique communities, engages local tradies and suppliers to build the homes, and gives many people a chance to be part of lasting change.
A recent project by E2E in Ararat earned them the Business of the Year in the 2025 East Grampians Business Excellence Awards, as well as the Innovation and Change award.
WAG President Diianne Marchment said this would be an AGM with a difference, with guest speakers presenting their plans for much-needed housing in the region and being available to answer questions from the public.
"This is what the community wants and has asked for, more housing," Ms Marchment said. "This is the opportunity to have questions answered and any concerns addressed."
"It will be a casual meeting so everyone feels comfortable to join in and have their questions answered."
Ms Marchment said, " Please don't think because it's an AGM you'll find yourself on the committee or have a job to do, it isn't that type of a meeting. We have specifically planned this meeting to provide the opportunity for the community to ask questions and get answers about the future of housing," she said.
"When E2E plans housing for a community, they consider the natural surroundings and existing structures so that they blend in. WAG is excited about this new venture for Warracknabeal, which will, I'm sure, help attract people to our amazing town,” she said. "
WAG is a local committee that links together local traders and the community to promote Warracknabeal.
The meeting will be followed by refreshments and networking.
