Victoria lashed by storms, more expected during the week
Some downgrades to weather but Victorians still need to stay vigilant
The BOM advised -Severe thunderstorms are no longer occurring in the South West district and the warning for this district is CANCELLED** but parts of Victoria are still being impacted.
A Severe Thunderstorm Warning for damaging to destructive winds, large hailstones and heavy rainfall for people in North East, West and South Gippsland and parts of Central, East Gippsland, North Central and Northern Country Forecast Districts has been issued.
Locations which may be affected include Falls Creek, Mt Hotham and Mt Buller.
Thunderstorms will be fast moving towards the southeast and are likely to continue throughout into the evening
A strong cold front with strong associated upper-level winds is crossing the state. This high-instability, high-shear environment is producing conditions conducive to severe thunderstorm development, unusual for this time of year.
Very dangerous thunderstorms are likely to produce destructive winds, large hailstones and heavy rainfall that may lead to flash flooding over the next several hours in parts of the North East, East Gippsland and West and South Gippsland districts. Locations which may be affected include Falls Creek, Mt Hotham and Mt Buller.

150 km/h wind gust was recorded at Mount Buller around 6pm.
