Vibrant cultural art to hit Dimboola
This Valentine's Day, February 14, Dimboola's Shire Hall will be transformed into a hub of vibrant art, culture and cinematic ambition with the launch of Sticky Fingers Art Prints Cambodia, created by Cambodian artist Julien Poulson.
From 7pm attendees will be able to view more than 20 pieces that showcase Mr Poulson's "dazzling pop art" carefully curated by Dimboola Art Inc.
Each piece offers a "dreamlike journey" through psychedelic sounds and imagery of 1960s Phnom Penh, the capital of Cambodia, such as 'Galaxy Khmer' which is a "psychedelic ode" to Cambodia’s vibrant music scene.
'Space Apsara' is a cosmic reimagining of Cambodia’s celestial dancers, 'The Golden Voice' is a tribute to Ros Sereysothea, the voice of Cambodia, and 'Bang Bang: My Baby Shot Me Down' is a portrayal of Pan Ron’s bold spirit.
The exhibition will also raise funds for Mr Poulson's upcoming feature film, 'Doin' Alright in Dimboola', and will enable young Cambodian artists to showcase their designs at this year's Wimmera Steampunk Festival in April.
