Vets tee off in Murtoa

The Wimmera Veterans and Senior Golf Ladies’ game in Murtoa last Monday saw 31 men and nine women turn up to play in perfect conditions.
The Men’s A-grade winner was David Baker with 37 points, and runner-up Rex Koning was close behind with 36 points.
The B-grade winner of the day was Rob Norton with 38 points, and runner-up was Ferdie Mosiero with 32 points, on a countback with Brian Cready and Ray Robinson.
The Ladies’ winner of the day was Anna Thomson from Horsham with 36 points, and runner-up was Val Scott, also from Horsham, with 34 points.
The winner of the Best Nine Out went to Josie Illig from Grange with 17 points, and the Best Nine In was awarded to Dimboola’s Heather Richard’s with 19 points.
Nearest the Pins on the 3rd hole were David Baker and Josie Illig; on the 6th were Ray Robinson and Paula Clark; on the 12th were Jeff Allen and Josie Illig again; and on the 14th was Leon Toy and Elaine Oakley.
