Two charged after Horsham jewellery heist

Police are seeking a third alleged offender after a man and a woman were charged in connection with a break-in at Latus jewellers in Horsham earlier this month.
A 31-year-old man and a 26-year-old woman have both been charged with two counts of aggravated burglary, theft of motor vehicle, burglary and theft.
The charges relate to three alleged incidents which occurred in the early hours of June 1: burglary and theft of jewellery from the jewellery store on Firebrace Street, aggravated burglary and theft of two cars from Market Lane in Horsham, and theft from a car in Hains Close, Beaufort.
No one was injured during these incidents, but police are still searching for a white 2018 Mercedes-Benz GLC250 SUV, which was allegedly stolen during the aggravated burglary on Market Lane.
Ballarat Crime Investigation Unit detectives executed a search warrant at a property on Geelong Road, Mount Clear, on June 2, and uncovered alleged drugs and assorted stolen jewellery.
The man, from Lucas, and the woman, from Sebastopol, were arrested at the scene.
The man will appear at the Ballarat Magistrates’ Court on July 5. The woman will appear at Ballarat Magistrates’ Court on July 28.
Police are appealing for public assistance to help locate an outstanding offender.
