Warracknabeal Neighbourhood House manager Karen Fuller said staff are disappointed after arriving at work on Monday to find a large amount of goods dumped at the front door.
"We’re frustrated these goods have been dumped on our doorstep for us to have to deal with," she said.
"We’re probably lucky that this is the first time it’s happened, as we know that for charities selling second hand goods, this has become a real problem.”
Ms Fuller said they have security camera footage of the incident, but was hoping the two people involved in this incident would come back, collect their items and take them to a service that is currently receiving goods for resale.
The items were dropped off on Friday night at around 6.30pm - barely 10 minutes after staff members had left for the weekend.
Ms Fuller said dealing with the dumped goods takes up precious time and resources.
“We are yet to sort through the items, but are disappointed that this task will take
valuable staff time away from activities that actually benefit our community," she said.
"The Neighbourhood House used to run an Op Shop, but closed it about five years ago due to a lack of staff and volunteers available to manage it properly.
"On behalf of other organisations that do receive second hand goods for resale, we ask that respect is shown to those community and volunteer run businesses.
"Please ensure goods are clean and in good condition, and that deliveries are made within opening hours when they have the capacity to receive them.”
