Total Fire Ban declared for January 4 in Wimmera, South West fire districts
The CFA declared Saturday, January 4, as a day of Total Fire Ban.
As temperatures increase this weekend, another day of Total Fire Ban has been declared for the region.
The Country Fire Authority has declared Saturday, January 4, a day of Total Fire Ban for the Wimmera and South West districts.
No fires can be lit in the open air between 00.01am and 11.59 pm.
The Bureau of Meteorology forecast consecutive days of 39°C for Horsham across the weekend.
Warracknabeal could be hit with 40°C and 41°C days on January 4 and 5.
The Bureau said there is a slight chance of a thunderstorm and shower in the region's northwest on Sunday afternoon.
The news comes as firefighters in Western Australia continue to battle a blaze that has destroyed a home and threatened other properties in Wooroloo, east of Perth.
Meanwhile, the Grampians National Park bushfire has scorched more than 75,000 hectares since it started on December 17.
It is believed that a dry lightning strike started the blaze, which originated about 22km north of Dunkeld.
