Tigers meet Bombers
After coming close to defeating Kaniva Leeor in round seven, Pimpinio’s senior football side will hope to go one better against Noradjuha Quantong this Saturday May 23.
The Tigers sit just outside the top five with a 3-3 record but will take solace from last week’s performance, where they came back in the second half to be within two goals of Kaniva Leeor before the Cougars held on.
Although they return home, Pimpinio will go up against a Noradjuha Quantong side who are fresh off their biggest win of the year, a 188-49 victory over Taylors Lake.
The Bombers have won the last five clashes between the sides but assistant coach Wade Francis said his team would need to nullify players such as Matt Rosier and Adam Westley to get on top of the Tigers.
“Pimpinio is one of those teams we've always had some good battles against,” Francis said.
“They've got a good core group of players who play some really good footy so we'll look to stop their main players from getting too much of the footy.
“But we’ll also focus on what we can do when we've got the ball, shut down what they can do and try to keep things on our terms.”
The Bombers have danger men of their own across the park, including forwards Judah Hobbs and Dylan Shelley.
The pair have kicked a combined 39 goals in their last four games and will pose a big challenge for the Pimpinio defence.
