The Dimboola District Tennis Association season has kicked off for 2023 with some sensational tennis played at the weekend.
On Friday night, Dimboola were host to Rainbow. Rainbow were the winners on the night with the Mixed winning 4 sets, 37 games to Dimboola 2 sets, 30 games. The Rainbow Men showed their skill winning 7 sets, 54 games to Dimboola 2 sets, 40 games. The Rainbow Women were too strong for Dimboola winning 6 sets, 53 games to 3 sets, 48 games. Overall score was Rainbow with 5 match points, 17 sets, 144 games to Dimboola 0 match points, 7 sets, 118 games.
On Saturday, Antwerp were host to Hopetoun. Antwerp Mixed won with 4 sets, 33 games to Hopetoun 1 set, 15 games. The Antwerp Men proved to be too strong for Hopetoun winning 7 sets, 61 games to 2 sets, 25 games. The Antwerp Women showed their excellent skills on the court and won 4 sets, 34 to Hopetoun 2 sets, 31 games. The overall score was Antwerp with 5 match points, 15 sets, 128 games to Hopetoun 0 match points, 5 sets, 71 games.
Next, Arkona were host to Brim. In a very close match, Brim Mixed were too good and won 2 sets, 20 games to Arkona 2 sets, 18 games. The Arkona Men produced their best tennis and won 4 sets, 29 games to Brim 2 sets, 33 games. The Brim Women were unstoppable and won 4 sets, 36 games to Arkona, 2 sets, 25 games. The overall score was Arkona 3.5 match points, 8 sets, 89 games to Brim 1.5 match points, 8 sets, 72 games.
The final match on Saturday, Jeparit were host to Warrack. The Warrack Mixed showed incredible doubles form and won 5 sets, 35 games to Jeparit 0 sets, 16 games. The Warrack Women dominated the courts and won 8 sets, 61 games to Jeparit 1 set, 14 games. The Jeparit Men were unstoppable won 4 sets, 37 games to Warrack 2 sets, 20 games. The overall score was Warrack with 4 match points, 15 sets, 116 games to Jeparit, 1 match point, 5 sets, 67 games.
