On Sunday June 11, 20 players joined forces to play a two-person Ambrose event at the Jeparit Golf Course.
Judging by some screams of excitement around the course, some people sunk long putts or chipped in from off the sand, but this scribe can assure you that was not happening with the duo he was in!
The winning team of Glen Treverton and Tony Foley finished with 59.25, whilst the runners-up, Mickey Millar and Morgan Gatford, finished with 60. Not much between them!
Finally we had two people on the scrapes off the tee for nearest the pins: Paul "Sherlock" Holmes on the 3rd and El Presidente Tony on the 5th.
The Archie Bell Award for "I've had a dog of a day" went to Liam Campbell and Dennis "Kennel" Kavanagh.
The course is in great shape with all accolades going to Raymond "Harry" Schulze and his team of greenkeeper cohorts.
Next weekend we have a Working Bee on Saturday commencing at 9.30am, so please bring chainsaws and safety equipment so we can tidy up some fallen tree branches that are damaging fencing, etc.
The Club Four-Person Gentsomes is on this Sunday, so get your team together and register with Paul on 0448772355 orpaulbellthoroughbreds@gmail.com,
Entry is $60 per team which includes a BBQ lunch and other extras on the day.
