Tempy market success
The Tempy Market drew strong community support on Saturday, May 2, with about 25 stallholders taking part in the local event.
One of the organisers, Kerry Riches, said the market went well and attracted more people than usual.
“It was a success,” she said.
She said organisers had about 22 to 24 stalls booked before the event, with the final number sitting at 25 stallholders.
The market featured a range of local and homemade products, including cakes, textiles, plants, beauty stalls and artworks.
“There were lots of homemade goods, but local businesses as well,” Ms Riches said.
The Red Caboose from Birchip also attended, with a coffee cart, while face-painting and henna tattoo stalls kept children entertained throughout the day.
Ms Riches said the highlight was seeing people support the market despite the wet weather.
“I think just seeing the community come in after the rain and getting around the market,” she said.
“It was nice to see everyone together.”
Ms Riches organised the event with Sharon Faulkner, both of whom are from Tempy.
She said organisers were already looking ahead to the next market.
“We’re looking forward to another successful year next year,” she said.
“Coming back bigger and better than ever.”
