Submitted by Elissa KellerEleven children took part in the annual Christmas Eve Nativity play, written by Elissa Keller, at the Rainbow Lutheran Church, telling the traditional Christmas story.Students of the Friday Kids Club and Pella Rainbow Sunday School dressed up in traditional outfits including wise men, angels, shepherds, and Mary and Joseph, to tell the story of the birth of Jesus.Each child performed their parts spectacularly in front of a large congregation after only a month of practice.As part of the service, the children performed the first verse of Away in a Manger on their own, while members of the congregation sang a variety of traditional Christmas carols.The carols for the evening were played wonderfully by Pastor Lucas Matuschka who also conducted the service.At the end of the service each child was presented with a book by Friday Club teacher Karen Koning and Pastor Lucas.Presentations were also made to Karen, Lucas and Beth, Marie Heinrich and Ruth Eckermann for their help with Friday Club throughout the year.
