Wimmera Machinery Field Days president Tim Rethus has declared the three-day comeback event an unqualified success, drawing more than 8000 visitors nationwide.
Suspended since Covid, the wait proved to be worthwhile, with an abundance of innovativetechnology on show and friends to catch up with, the dollars and yarns flew thick and fast.
“We’ve received very positive feedback," Mr Rethus said.
"The visitors and exhibitors - and especially the farmers - are very happy.
"We had more than 8000 visitors this year which is more than the previous Field Days. The committee is extremely grateful and thrilled."
From machinery worth millions to homemade local cheesecakes, it seemed there was something for everyone.
“Our committee talked with the exhibitors and they really did some good business,” Mr Rethus said.
“Kids enjoyed the train rides, George the Farmer and the petting zoo shows."
Local wines and produce were such a big hit, organisers hope to expand on those offerings next year.
“We learned from that to bring more food exhibitors next year," Mr Rethus said.
He was especially grateful to the volunteers who put the event together.
“We had almost 35 people on our committee and a bunch of volunteers to do planning and the other stuff, plus Longerenong College students helped us out as well,” he said.
“I value the commitment of the members of our committee in organising this year's Field Days.
“A special appreciation for our manager Vanessa Lenehan for such a huge and successful event.
“Last year her plan was pulled down a month before, but she has again come up with the same energy and set it all up so well.”
“Nothing happened that we couldn’t handle. We are pleasantly surprised by how it was attended and received, and we're thankful to the community and council to deliver such event.”
