The Warracknabeal Table Tennis Association been enjoying their Come and Try Nights in preperation for the 2023 season, and is looking forward to holding their next one on Monday.
Secretary Owen Osborne said the Come and Try Nights were the perfect chance for regular players to have a pre-season hit, and an opportunity for people who may be interested in joining to come and see if table tennis is for them.
“The club has been more active in the off season with players keen to have a hit on a regular basis, some of the participants have travelled from as far away as Natimuk, Hopetoun and Yaapeet,” he said.
“For anyone thinking of playing, if you haven't played for a while, or if you are new to the sport, it is not too late to take up table tennis this year.
“We've also had several enquiries from our Junior members as to when their season might commence, at this stage we are hopeful of arranging their first Come and Try session for early May.”
Mr Osborne said the players are graded and play in teams of four against people of their own ability and that the main emphasis is on participation and having a good time, and they are hoping to get the 2023 season underway on either the first or second Monday of May.
The next Come and Try Night will be held at the Warracknabeal Leisure Centre on Monday April 24, commencing at 7.30pm.
