The Stawell Swifts will look to recapture their winning form when they go against Kaniva Leeor this Saturday in round nine of the Horsham District Football Netball League.

The Stawell Swifts will look to recapture their winning form when they go against Kaniva Leeor this Saturday in round nine of the Horsham District Football Netball League.
The Swifts return to action after two weeks off following their bye and the long weekend break.
Swifts registered dominant victories in four out of their opening five games before tight losses to Harrow Balmoral (62-54) and Pimpinio (62-45) prior to the break.
In their quest to end their consecutive losses, Stawell face an improving Kaniva side.
The Cougars put in some strong performances prior to the break, including a tight victory over Kalkee (94-90), a narrow 58-48 loss to Harrow Balmoral, before a dominant showing against Pimpinio, winning 143-54.
Kaniva’s Jacob Eats looms as a critical factor in the match, with the big forward leading men’s seniors football in goalkicking with 38 majors.
While pleased with their performances, Jonno Hicks, coach of Kaniva, knows the team can continue to improve.
“We know the difference between our best footy and our worst is a long way,” Hicks said.
“We are working on our consistency and just how we want to move the ball.
“It's a really important patch in our year, just making sure we get ourselves right and then hopefully roll in for a good finish as the season goes on.”
The match looms as a critical one for the league ladder.
Swifts are currently fifth and Kaniva are sixth, but either team could rise to fourth on the ladder, or potentially drop to seventh, depending on other results.
