Students from Dimboola Primary and Saint Peter’s Lutheran schools painted a voyage in light at Horsham Town Hall on Friday.
They took part in the Spark – Sea of Light sessions, an imaginative and illuminating interactive installation on the stage floor of the hall.
The students painted and stencilled their “voyage” and steered ships that left glowing paths of light in their wake, using a UV torch as the paintbrush.
They also looked into the paintings on the ocean floor at the Sea of Light exhibition by Indigenous visual artist Elizabeth Close.
Her work explores the relationship between land and sea, earth and waterways, and highlights the close ties that Australia’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people have with Country.
