Students enjoy the colour SPATacular at 298, fundraiser for school
Schools main event spreads colour and fun at SPATacular
Horsham Primary School Parents and Friends Clubs 298 and Rasmussen joined forces on Friday, October 25, to host Colour SPATacular for a day of fun and colour.to bring the school community together and in a happy space.
Colour SPATacular was the main event for the year and provided a fun-filled day for 450 students.
They were encouraged to come to school in white tee-shirts so the colour run was more fun, and they had a memory shirt to keep as a reminder of one of their best school days.
"Our fundraising in term 3, resulted in a massive $14,000 raised towards school improvements, " said proud P&F 298 President P&F Felicity Williams.
"Our focus at the moment is to assist with building classroom walls, which will create positive learning environments for the students."
Fifty-two volunteers, including teachers, education support staff, P&F members, and non-members, assisted in creating a course with 13 stations for the SPATacular colour run.
"We had so much fun. There was lots of color, and water everywhere; no one escaped the slime.
"It was great to see families and students participate and watch the event, cheering on the students," she said.
The first colour run took place in the USA in 2011 and the event has since spread worldwide.
Colour runs are a unique paint race that celebrates healthiness, happiness, and individuality.
The colour aspect is adapted from the Hindu Holi Festival or Festival of Colours, where participants are drenched with water and covered in coloured powder.
