Students compete in robotics event

More than 40 students competed in the 6th RoboCup Junior (RCJ) Horsham Regional and the first RCJ inter-school robotics competition of the year, hosted by Wimmera Lutheran College on June 16.

The students worked on ideas with RCJ volunteers and past competitors while competing in the Robot Rescue and Soccer events at the school's Horsham campus.

The program aims to teach students robotics through a project-based learning approach, and all 42 students focused on problem-solving strategies as the courses and robot designs progressed throughout the day.

WLC and Chaffey Secondary College both had division winners during the competition.

Participants now have the option of attending upcoming state-level and national events in Melbourne and Canberra.
