Stockton Park Estate: Horsham's newest housing development now for sale
Horshams Stockton Park Estate launches with strong interest.
Horsham's newest housing estate, Stockton Park Estate, is now on the market, with the first phase of the 51-home development available for purchase.
Located off Williams Road, the estate has already seen strong interest, with several blocks reserved.
Wes Davidson, managing director and principal of Wes Davidson Real Estate, said countless hours have gone into developing the land for future generations.
"There's been a positive reaction from quite a few people looking to get out that way because it's a nice part of town," he said.
"A couple of blocks already been reserved. We're hoping to commence works on it very shortly."
Mr Davidson said developers worked with local water authorities to make the most of the nearby Wimmera River and wetlands.
"There has some good assistance from the Wimmera Management Authority in coming up with a very good holistic sort of design to make the the area more attractive for people," he said.
"Full credit to them for the input and work they put into it."
Mr Davidson said the block sizes range from 1017m-1722m and will cater to bigger families to retirees.
"There's a couple of bigger blocks here for people who want the big shed and home," he said.
"We've also provided some medium-density blocks to get people who may want to build a townhouse with a lower maintenance style.
"We've got properties in between. There really is something for everybody in that estate.
"There's protective covenants for people so that their investment is protected."
Mr Davidson said about a quarter of the blocks along Stockton Drive would be released in the initial phase; future releases would see land near Rissmann Drive complete the estate.
"I think the thing that's going to impress most people when they review it, is that you literally will walk just one or two city blocks, and you'll be in a semi rural environment," he said.
"You can take in the aesthetics that it offers.
"In the future, you'll be able to get down through the soon-to-be constructed wetlands that will enable you to get down to the walkway amd walk along the Wimmera River and to the Hamilton Street Bridge.
"For a lot of people, it'll be an easy walk into town."
