Maryborough Avoca keeps winning ways while Elmhurst Amphitheatre and Stawell claim maximum points in round three of the Ararat and District Tennis Association's 2024/25 summer.

After claiming 10 points from both its contests in the opening two round of the competition, Maryborough Avoca would have hit the court on Saturday, October 26 as favourites against Crowlands.

While the ladder leader's dominated the men's section, and picked up three of four rubbers in the mixed section, Crowlands swept the women's section, forcing points away from Maryborough Avoca for the first time this season.

But, at the day's end Maryborough Avoca still won the match 8-2, having claimed 76 games to Crowlands' 64.

In Elmhurst Amphitheatres' clash with Landsborough, the former's men swept their section, winning all four rubbers, scoring 33 games to 18.

A tight women's section saw a rubber fall either way, with the final decision favouring Elmhurst Amphitheatre on games won, 25-21.

And, with three rubbers to one, Elmhurst Amphitheatre won the mixed section to claim all 10 points for the match.

Stawell was strong in the men's section to win three of the four rubbers.

In the women's sections, scores were kept tight, but Stawell took the two points after claiming three rubbers.

And, Stawell swept the mixed section, with two 8-1 victories highlighting the side's dominance.

Maryborough Avoca remains atop the ADTA competition ladder after round three with a 10 point advantage over the second placed Crowlands.

Elmhurst Amphitheatre and Stawell sit third and fourth, both on 12 points, while Landsborough has 10 and Buangor has 8.
