St Marys will look to put in a better performance when they play rivals Brim-KSH at the Brim Recreation Reserve tomorrow.
St Marys haven't had a good comeback to A Grade thus far with two big losses and captain Colby Schmidt said that they first need to bat out 40 overs in what he describes as a 'rivalry game.'
"Things may not have gone our way yet but we will be looking for a win, don't worry about that," he said.
"With the old rivarly being renewed the match will have a bit of extra spice about it.
"We need to bat our 40 overs which hasn't happened yet. If we can bowl like we did week one and can bat our full quota of overs then we will give ourselves every chance."
Schmidt knows it is going to be tough as Brim-KSH are a good A-Grade side and contending for the premiership again.
"Brim bowl tight when they get their chance. Isaac is a smart captain. He sets the right fields for his bowlers and they bowl to that really well," he explained.
"They will be contending this year so we know it will be a tough match and we are looking forward to it."
Brim-KSH opening batsman Matthew Crisp doesn't think there is rivalry between the two teams.
"I don't think there is any rivalry there. We just turn up and play," he said.
"Being neighbouring towns there may be rivalry but we are at peace with it.
"It's good to see them back in A-Grade but I hope we win."
They welcome back Chris McPherson which strengthens their lineup. Crisp knows the key will be continue to score runs.
"The last two matches we have posted really good scores. We will be definitely aiming to post a high total again and try and let them chase it," he explained.
"The bowlers are going good. If our bowlers get on top early and keep them to a low score then we should win the match."
In the other matches, at the Donald Recreation Reserve, Donald-Jeffcott will look to remain unbeaten when they host Marnoo and Birchip will look to get their first win at home against Wycheproof/Narraport. St Arnaud have the bye.
