Local opera singer Sofia Laursen-Habel is returning for one night only on home ground.
Currently living in Denmark to further her music career, Ms Laursen-Habel is home for the holidays and is keen to perform pieces from her repertoire, including operatic crowd favorites like Libiamo, Phantom of the Opera and summer-inspired songs that tie in with celebrating a festive harvest season.
Her last performance in the region was the Drive-in Opera at Sheep Hills Silos in 2021.
The first-of-its-kind concert sold out within days, drawing more than 100 cars to the event.
Next month Ms Laursen-Habel will build on her passion for engaging with her home community and bringing classical music to rural areas in another one-off evening.
It will be a perfect opportunity to come in from the paddocks for a few hours and enjoy an evening of classical music from a variety of genres, plus a Christmas song or two.
The performance, aptly titled On Home Ground, will be held at Warracknabeal Racecourse on Friday December 15.
Pre-drinks (at bar prices) will be served from 7.30pm for an 8pm start.
