Showbags a hit

With great memories and a love of the local show, what began as a thought developed into another showbag option at the Rainbow Show last week.
Situated in front of the pavilion, over 100 showbags - prepared by the combined Christian Churches - found their way to homes across the district and beyond.
The free showbags for children contained activities to do at home, as well as novelties, treats and toys, while adults walked away with a special handout.
The theme of the showbags was Noah’s Ark, and the rainbow and animals served as a nod to the agricultural and pastoral aspects of the A&P Show.
Lots of children and some adults also participated in making a mural, prepared by Pam Clugston, which will be in Keller’s Newsagency Window.
We hope to feature as an addition to future Shows.
We have an upcoming event at the Southern Mallee Co-Operative Parish, 22 King St Rainbow.
On Wednesday November 1, we will gather for "Prayers for Peace for Israel and Palestine and the Middle East", which will provide a space for remembering those who suffer, support, and solidarity in seeking peace.
All are welcome to attend the gathering at 5pm, and share in our prayers and songs for peace.
