Show to make triumphant return
The Jeparit Show is just nine weeks away and preparations are in full swing.
A raffle of firewood was held recently, with all funds going to the operation of the show, and Debra Schumann drawn as the winner.
The raffle raised $350, while individual wood sales have been a huge success, pulling in well over $2000.
Now in its 126th year, the Show is held on the third Sunday in October and has grown to become one of the biggest events of the year.
This year the show has a committee of new volunteers who are dedicated to revitalising the community event.
"We are thrilled to see the show making a comeback," committee spokesperson Tracey Wright said.
"We’ve listened to what the community wants, and we’re excited to roll out an event that truly reflects the spirit of Jeparit."
This year’s show will return with all the excitement that has made it a highlight on the calendar locally, including the much-anticipated return of horses and the art of whip cracking.
In addition to the equestrian activities, the show will also feature an expansive car boot sale, inviting locals and visitors alike to explore a treasure trove of crafts and goods.
The inclusion of a motor show welcomes all types of vehicles, giving enthusiasts the chance to display their prized possessions while celebrating the passion that drives them.
One of the most thrilling new additions to this year’s line-up is the introduction of full metal jousting, a spectacle sure to mesmerise audiences with its knights in shining armour clashing in a display of skill and valour.
This event promises to be a highlight, transporting attendees back to a time of ancient chivalry.
Families will find plenty to keep the little ones entertained in a dedicated kids’ corner, designed with interactive activities, entertainment and games tailored to youngsters.
