Visitors of all ages are invited to soak up the “new vibe” the Horsham Agricultural Show promises to offer with a return to a Saturday showtime and exciting new attractions to make the event bigger and better than ever.
“Last year was the first year back since Covid, and we have a stack of other attractions that will make this year bigger and better,” Horsham Agricultural Society secretary Andrea Cross said, as preparations ramped up for the two-day extravaganza on September 22-23.
“We want to be able to retain the level of expectation and deliver an exceptional and unforgettable day of fun, food and festivities at this agricultural extravaganza.
“Part of that has been having our 145th show return to a Saturday, which we haven’t done for 10 or 15 years. We hope this willl allow more people to attend.”
Agriculture will feature heavily, of course, with the return of a shearing competition, mini goats and yard dog trials, as well as a beef cattle display - something the show has not seen since 2016.
“We’re excited to have quite a few breeds coming along, including Blonde d’Aquitaine, which is new to the region,” Mrs Cross said.
“The dog high jump competition will return and we’re encouraging anyone whose dog can jump to enter for the chance to win the $100 first prize.”
Children’s entertainers The Mik Maks will be a welcome return following a few years’ break, as well as a pallet maze, a giant sandpit and sensory tents and teepees sure to keep kids and their parents engaged.
Maydale Pavillion will feature free art and craft, interactive wool displays and market stalls, and the new-look Stable Four will host an animal nursery.
