Sharon Fedke keen to work with young Lakers as the club's new A grade coach
Sharon Fedke koins Taylors Lake for the 2025 HDFNL.
Renowned Wimmera netball coach Sharon Fedke has signed on to helm Taylors Lake's A graders in 2025 as the red and white look to climb the HDFNL ladder.
Having coached the Horsham District Football and Netball League's junior interleague squads in recent years, Fedke said she is excited about the opportunity at the club level.
"[Taylors Lake have] got some really talented young girls," she said.
"I thought this was an opportunity I couldn't pass up."
A few of the Lakers' A graders, Fedke has coached at interleague level.
"So I know them quite well," she said.
"I thought this was a chance to not just coach them for a short period of time, because interleague is such a short thing.
"I can have the opportunity to be coaching them all year, [I'm] looking forward to that challenge."
While Fedke is keen to get involved at Taylors Lake, she has yet to set concrete goals.
"You can't go in there and wave a magic wand and say we're going to win a premiership or anything like that, but for me it's about the development of the girls," she said.
"It's about seeing some improvement ... hoping that the group as a whole can improve.
"It's about how I can help them improve and develop."
Taylors Lake's netball director Kelly Knoop said the club was very excited to get Fedke on board and believes her experience and knowledge will help the club improve beyond just the A grade setup.
"She's got a wealth of knowledge, and being able to tap into that, not only for all our players but for some of our other coaches as well, to be able to tap into Sharon's knowledge will be hugely beneficial, right across the board," Knoop said.
"We've already recruited some girls that are just so excited to be coached by Sharon.
"It's a real boost just to have her on board."
