Serviceton bowls back into the swing
President Leon Tink welcomed everyone back to bowling in Serviceton after the Christmas and New Year break.

He especially welcomed visitor John Clarke from Ballarat back to the club.
Serviceton had two teams playing at the Kaniva New Year's Day tournament, with the Shawcross team coming home runner-up on the day by one shot.
Winners on Saturday January 3 with 56 points were Mark Shawcross, Loma Wallis, Jenny Tink and Karen Shawcross.
Social night bowls will begin on Thursday January 29.

There are places to be filled in teams for anyone wanting to try the fun bowls nights.
The social season runs for six Thursday nights.

The Australia Day Four-Day Tournament is coming up.
Friday January 23 will be mixed fours, Saturday January 24 is Serviceton mixed pairs and Sunday January 25 will be any-combination triples, all starting at 12.30pm Victorian time.
On Monday January 26 Serviceton's Australia Day men’s fours competition will be held, starting at 10am Victorian time.
Morning and afternoon teas and lunch will be supplied.
There will be a working bee before the tournament to erect more shading in preparation.
On January 11, Jeff Palmer won the Serviceton Club Mixed 21Up competition.
There were 15 entries this year filling the green.
The finals were played between Leon Tink and Loma Wallis and Jenny Tink and Jeff Palmer.
The final play was a very exciting long game between Loma and Jeff with the lead swapping all the way through.
On January 10, the Saturday club bowls winners were Mark Shawcross, Gwen Colwill and Ian Tink.
Next Saturday, Serviceton will play for Kaniva Community Roadhouse vouchers.
