Students and teachers at two Warrack primary schools are hitting the saddle after accepting donations of bikes from Rural Northwest Health.
Students and teachers at two Warrack primary schools are hitting the saddle after accepting donations of bikes from Rural Northwest Health.
The RNH Active Travel initiative is designed to encourage healthier, more environmentally conscious modes of transport among primary students, as well as promoting physical health.
Warracknabeal Primary School and St Mary’s Catholic Primary School will both be incorporating bike education into their curriculum.
The schools are being given six bikes - five for children and one for adults - with teachers also being trained in bike education.
"This is a shining example of the influential role schools play in directing young minds towards a healthier, more sustainable future,” RNH Health Promotions coordinator Joe Guta said.
