Saturday punters' successful day

Australia’s newly-crowned 2022/23 leading trainers by wins, Ciaron Maher and Dave Eustace, won the opening two races at Warracknabeal last Saturday.
Both started favourites: Bold Julius in race one, with their new apprentice Sarah Field winning by two-and-a-half lengths, and Sirius Black in race two, ridden by Jack Hill, won easily by four lengths and started an odds on favourite.
The stable also won a race at Moonee Valley.
Race two was the first of a riding double for Jack Hill as he combined with Warnambool trainer Tom Dabernig to win on Thisismyturf in race six.
Punters had a successful day with four favourites out of the seven races winning.
Another successful stable was Leon and Troy Corstens, who won race five with Jay Peak Kitten, repeating the win they achieved with the same horse at Warracknabeal’s June 30 meeting.
The Corstens also won two races at Moonee Park on Saturday.
The next race meeting to be conducted at Warracknabeal is on Saturday August 19.
