Roos return to form over Rupanyup
Harrow Balmoral have returned to their winning ways with a dominant victory over Rupanyup in round nine of men’s senior football in the Horsham District Football Netball League on Saturday.
The final score was Harrow Balmoral 16.17 (113) to Rupanyup 5.3 (33).
Having lost their first game since 2022 in their round eight matchup with Noradjuha Quantong, the reigning champions were keen to demonstrate that they were still the team to beat.
A tight first quarter saw the Roos take a one-point lead into the first break before a dominant 41-point second quarter saw them lead 55-14 at half-time.
Despite a three-goal third term from the Panthers, the Roos were in control of the game, finishing with a 35-point final quarter.
For Harrow Balmoral, Will Burbury and Noah Hildebrand were the best players, while Elliot Kelly and Ryan Timmins were Rupanyup’s best players.
Lachlan Craig led the victors with four goals, while Blake Turner booted four majors for the Panthers.
The result ensured Harrow Balmoral remain in second place on the league ladder, while Rupanyup are currently ninth.
