In the lead-up to R U OK? Day this Thursday, all Ritchies stores want us all to meaningfully ask those we care about "Are you okay?" using the Ritchies conversation bubble and then to genuinely listen to what comes next.

Last year almost 20,000 Ritchies conversation bubbles were displayed sharing messages of hope, care and concern for others.

Proud of this achievement and fostering a sense of pride, any member of the Ritchies community can grab a new R U OK? conversation bubble for a $2 donation to help start even more life-changing conversations again this year.

Support from every Ritchies store will raise awareness of the R U OK? Day 2023 message "R U OK? I’m here to hear".

The "R U OK? I’m here to hear" message reminds Australians to let people know we’re here to really hear them, because a conversation could change a life.

Asking R U OK? is the first step, but we need to also listen to the response.

Each Ritchies conversation bubble can be either displayed in store with a handwritten message of support or passed on to a colleague, family member, friend or neighbour.

“Our friends, family members and workmates face life’s ups and downs every day of the year," James Cameron from Ritchies said.

"We all have a role to play in looking out for one another.

“Ritchies IGA supermarkets are supporting R U OK? for the third year to do what we can to motivate our locals and help them to genuinely ask ‘Are you OK?’ whenever we think someone might be struggling or going through a tough time."

Shoppers can drop in to the Ritchies store in Warracknabeal until next Tuesday September 19 to pick up a Ritchies conversation bubble.

The website ruok.org.au contains free downloadable resources to help guide an R U OK? conversation and plan R U OK? Day 2023 activities.
