Residents mark Mother's Day
Kurrajong Lodge residents enjoyed a special Mother’s and Ladies Day celebration with a glamour photoshoot and high tea organised by the Meaningful Life team.

The event brought residents together to celebrate mothers, special ladies and the wider care community.
Male residents also joined the celebration and were invited to take part in the photoshoot.
Kurrajong Lodge meaningful life partner Jeanette Schultz said the team regularly organised special events to help residents connect and celebrate important occasions.
“In a care community, it’s important to get everyone together to celebrate all these functions,” she said.
“Today, in particular, we’re having Mother’s and special Ladies Day, and a beautiful glamour photoshoot has been organised by the Meaningful Life team, followed by a lovely afternoon tea, which we call a special high tea, to celebrate all our mothers.”
Ms Schultz said the celebration played an important role in supporting social interaction among residents.
“It’s very important because, at the end of the day, we’ve all been a mother or a special lady in our time,” she said.
She said the event was inclusive and open to everyone at the lodge.
“All the male residents are also included and invited, and they’re also invited to take part in the photoshoot,” she said.
The Meaningful Life team organises the event annually, alongside other special celebrations such as Easter and Christmas.
Ms Schultz also shared a Mother’s Day message for the community, wishing all mothers and special ladies a happy Mother’s Day.
Reflecting on her own mother, Ms Schultz said she had many special memories.
“She was very caring, very nurturing, and I miss her daily,” she said.
Some family members also joined the residents at the lodge for the event.
