Edenhope Apsley's senior football side will hope to continue their recent form as they host Laharum in round nine this Saturday June 13.

The Demons enter Saturday with six wins and two losses and have affirmed themselves as a flag contender with a victory over Noradjuha Quantong and a close defeat to three-time and reigning premiers Harrow Balmoral.

And while the Mountain Men will fancy their chances on Saturday, coach Robbie Miller says he knows his team will aim to put their best foot forward against a very different Saints side from the one they faced in 2025.

“It's a difficult one to gauge with quite a few recruits arriving at Edenhope this year,” Miller said.

“But we'll go about how we just want to execute our game plan, do the things we do well and focus on us first and foremost.

“As the weekend draws closer we'll have a look at their side and see how the magnets match up and get our matchups strong.”

One matchup which could make the contest interesting is whether Will Irwin suits up for Edenhope Apsley.

The full forward starred in his debut for the club, kicking 12 goals to help the side to a 134-60 win against Natimuk United in round seven.

Even if Irwin doesn’t play, the Saints have demonstrated they are an improved outfit and have had the benefit of two weeks off.

Pleased to have had their first Saturday off with the long weekend break, Laharum’s coach says the break and upcoming byes for the side would hopefully have them refreshed for the latter part of the season.

“I just told the guys to completely switch off football, mentally and physically, because we've been working pretty hard since the preseason till now,” Miller said.

“This was our first real break and then we're being blessed with a few breaks throughout the second half of the year, so hopefully that plays in our favour.”
