The Rapid Relief Team (RRT) has been on the frontline at bushfires across Victoria for three weeks straight, putting in 780 volunteer hours to serve more than 4,800 meals to emergency crews, including those battling the highly destructive Grampians National Park blaze.

RRT crews served up 3,448 meals and handed out 200 meal packs to firefighters and other first responders at the Grampians fire, remaining on the scene from when it broke out mid-December until 5 January as it was contained.

Sunbury Local Team Leader Tim Braden said the RRT crews served their signature burgers, egg and bacon rolls, BBQ chicken, sandwiches and other refreshments.

"It's a rewarding job being able to provide a good feed to weary firefighters," Mr Braden said.

RRT were also called to an earlier blaze in Creswick, near Ballarat, and cooked up 560 meals.

Ballarat Local Team Leader, Russell Grace said volunteers have been working around the clock to support the Country Fire Authority.

"We know that they put in the hard yards when fighting these fires, and it's physically and mentally exhausting," Mr Grace said.

"It's important when they take a break to be able to have delicious hot or fresh food waiting for them. It not only re-energises them but lifts their spirit as well."

Established in 2013 to assist emergency services in times of disaster and crisis by providing meals and other support, RRT has expanded to more that 14,500 volunteers, and provides support to the community through charitable donations and events.
