Rainbow congratulates 2023 top student
At the Rainbow P-12 College Awards Night, the community celebrated the achievement of many of the students, and applauded the 2023 Dux: Tessa Leach.
At the Rainbow P-12 College Awards Night, the community celebrated the achievement of many of the students, and applauded the 2023 Dux: Tessa Leach.
Tessa is the daughter of Steve and Nicole Leach, who are both teachers at the school, and she took time off from her summer job at Graincorp to share her thoughts on her final year of schooling.
“I found Year 12 difficult at first but once I figured it out and got a bit of a groove going it turned out okay," she said.
"Having Mum and Dad as teachers at the school has both good and bad points.
"They were always available to give me help, but they also knew what homework I had to do so there was no getting out of doing it.
"My advice for 2024’s students studying in their final year is 'don’t dwell on your scores' and 'appreciate the good times'.”
Having studied environmental science, physical education, global politics, economics and English this year, Tessa has been accepted at Deakin University in Geelong to begin a bachelor's degree in international studies.
