West Wimmera Health Service’s Rainbow Nursing Home and Hostel have both successfully maintained their accreditation in an assessment of their residential aged care facilities.

The two met all 42 requirements of the eight aged-care quality standards.

The eight standards, which all government-funded aged-care providers must comply with, reflect a provider’s ability to uphold a set level of care.

“This is an outstanding result for Rainbow and the service, bearing testament to the dedication and hard work of all our staff in these facilities to meet the needs of our residents,” Darren Welsh, acting chief executive officer of West Wimmera Health Service, said.

“Our staff certainly go above and beyond to make sure our facilities are great places for our aged-care residents.

“Having both of our Rainbow sites, along with many of our other campuses, all recently reaccredited demonstrates our commitment to delivering care that is safe, effective and person-centred, always.”

More information on the quality standards is on the Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission website.
