Police still seeking answers after SUV was driven into Yarriambiack Creek
Police attend two separate incidents of car theft and speeding
Victorian Police have provided an update on drivers falling foul of the law through theft, arson and speed.
Police said that at 8.35pm on Monday, November 18, 2024, an unregistered black Great Wall SUV was driven into the Yarriambiack Creek at Warracknabeal between Wood and Werrigar Street.
The vehicle was set on fire, and a male described as being in his early 20s, around 180 cm tall, skinny build with a thin moustache was seen running from the burning vehicle.
Several people have been spoken to by police, but neither the offender nor the car's owner has been identified as yet.
The last registration number was 1WK2GT, and it was registered to a Western Victoria address.
Police have not been able to determine if the vehicle was stolen and would like to return the vehicle to its rightful owner.

In a separate incident, a driver faced costs of more than $2000 after their car was allegedly recorded driving more than twice the speed limit.
On Tuesday, January 14, 2025, Nhill poilce intercepted a car travelling at an alleged speed of 201km/h along the Western Highway between Nhill and Kaniva.
The vehicle was impounded for 30 days, at a cost to the driver of $2095.90.
The 31-year-old South Australian driver of the vehicle is expected to be summonsed to Court for various driving-related offences.
