Police presence looking out for 'anti-social behaviour' at grand final
The WFNL's grand final day will be at Dimboola Recreation Reserve.
The Wimmera's footballers, netballers, volunteers and supporters will likely see an increased police presence around the WFNL grand final on Saturday, September 21.
Sergeant Mick O'Dwyer of Victoria Police's Horsham area command said; "There will be an increased police presence out at Dimboola for the grand final this weekend of highway patrol units and uniform units."
"We're reminding people to be aware of that fact and not to drink and drive, and to conduct themselves in an orderly fashion, and hopefully everybody can have a good weekend," he said.
With Ararat taking on the Southern Mallee Thunder in the senior football decider, players and spectators will take to the roads from right across the Wimmera to head to Dimboola Recreation Reserve.
While teams also from Horsham Saints, Horsham Demons, and Stawell Warriors will also be in action, Sgt O'Dwyer said police will be keeping an eye out for 'any kind of anti social behaviour.'
"We expect the crowd to conduct themselves appropriately, and generally we don't have too many issues within that regard," he said.
