Police out in force for long weekend as Operation Amity begins on Friday
Operation Amity runs from January 23 to January 27.

Victoria Police will be out in force this Australia Day long weekend to reduce road trauma and to ensure everyone stays safe on our roads.
Operation Amity runs from Friday, January 24, until Monday, January 27, 2025.
The state-wide road policing operation will focus on: speed, impaired drivers, fatigue, vulnerable road users and seatbelt compliance.
It is a timely reminder that traffic increases on Victorian roads over the long-weekend period.
Drivers should avoid distractions and drive according to conditions.
During the 2024 Australia Day long weekend police 2261 speeding offences, making up almost half of of offences detected by police during the four-day statewide policing operation.
