Police news update and warning to drivers
Victorian police conducted a special road safety campaign called Operation Roadwise over the Christmas-New Year period in an effort to curb the road toll.

Operation Roadwise was a 15-day road policing operation that ran during the Christmas and New Year period, beginning the weekend before Christmas.
The Horsham Police Service Area detected 344 traffic violations, 32 crime-related offences and conducted 4913 preliminary breath tests.
On December 27, emergency services were called to a traffic incident on the Horsham-Dimboola Road, about 15 kilometres from Horsham.
A car and caravan were involved, and the caravan rolled onto its side.
Police at the scene said the driver of the car had attempted to miss an oncoming truck, and this had resulted in the caravan rolling over and damage to the vehicle.
Police said there were no injuries reported.
More than half of last year’s fatal collisions occurred on roads in regional Victoria, and police continue to urge motorists to take extra care.
