Pluto streaks up the ladder

Round nine of the junior table tennis season saw a lot of close matches played, especially in the second match of the evening where Jupiter prevailed over Mars by only three games.
Pluto 5 sets, 11 games, 190 points defeated Saturn 4 sets, 10 games, 173 points.
Pluto’s Zeke defeated Saturn’s Josh 11-7, 11-8, before Saturn’s Zac took a set over Pluto’s Shelta 11-8, 11-5, and Brad (subbing for Saturn) won his singles match against Ivy 12-10, 13-11.
Pluto gained the lead after winning both their doubles matches: Zeke/Shelta defeated Josh/Zac 6-11, 11-5, 11-5. Shelta/Ivy defeated Zac/Zoe 8-11, 11-4, 11-7.
In the reverse singles, Pluto’s Zeke defeated Zac, but Saturn teammate Josh fought back and defeated Shelta 11-3, 11-1, joined by Zoe defeating Ivy 11-9, 6-11, 11-8.
This left the teams at four sets each, until Zeke/Ivy defeated Josh/Zoe 11-7, 11-7, giving Pluto the win.
Jupiter 6 sets,15 games, 268 points defeated Mars 6 sets, 12 games, 272 points.
Mars began at a gallop, winning the first three singles: Butla defeated Fionn 12-10, 11-9. Colby defeated Jagger 11-5, 13-11. Eedie defeated Sully 11-13, 13-11, 11-3.
Jupiter took the next three sets: Heather (subbing for Jupiter) defeated Oaklee 11-9, 12-10. Fionn/Jagger defeated Butla/Colby 12-10, 12-10.
Mars took the next three: Butla defeated Jagger 11-3, 11-6. Colby defeated Fionn 12-10, 10-12, 11-7. Eedie defeated Heather 10-12, 12-10, 12-10.
Then Jupiter bounced back to win the last three sets of the match: Sully defeated Oaklee 11-4, 11-9. Fionn/Sully defeated Butla/Eedie 11-9, 12-10.
The sets were equal at six each, but Jupiter was the overall winner by three games, despite Mars gaining four more points overall.
Round the table winners were Jagger and Ivy, while Colby was runner-up in both.
Pluto streaks to the top of the ladder with 32 points, followed by Jupiter on 20, Saturn on 12, and Mars on 8.
