Plenty of Horsham cricket action despite relentless preceding downpours
Three A Grade cricket matches took place across the Wimmera.
Despite Mother Nature's relentless downpour, there was some cricket played across the Wimmera.
More than 15mm of rain fell across the Wimmera in the 48 hours preceding Saturday, October 19, forcing the Horsham Cricket Association's executive committee to make several tough decisions.
While all junior cricket was abandoned on October 18, most senior cricket games were able to play.
In the A Grade, Bullants defeated Lubeck-Murtoa by 16 runs.
Batting first, Jamie Byrne and Matthew Combe scored half centuries as the Bullants posted 9/189.
Mudlarks captain Joshua Hedt scored 66, but ran out of batting partners.
At Dimboola Road, the Colts needed all but the last three balls to defeat the Tigers by three wickets.
Batting first, the Tigers posted a patient 3/168 on the back of Angus Adams' 76*.
Dylan Arnott amassed 70 runs for Colts before he was stumped off Adams bowling.
Colts fell behind the required run rate, but a run-a-ball 14 from Joey Nagorcka, including a six in the final over, held them secure the win.
Laharum scored a home win, defeating West Wimmera by 75 runs.
The Demons scored 114 runs with Nathan Alexander finishing with 4/3.
However, the Warriors could not muster any memberships, consistently losing wickets.
Jackson Hoffmann snagged 5/7 off his nine overs.
Brim KSH and Horsham Saints was abandoned after the Brim wicket was unplayable.
