The Pimpinio Football and Netball Club has received funding from the federal government through its Play Our Way program to build a second netball court at Pimpinio Recreation Reserve.

Pimpinio FNC has valued the project at more than $1 million, with additional support coming from in-kind labour and the proceeds of the ale of Pimpinio Primary School.

Club netball director Renee Clarkson said it had been a long and sometimes difficult road for the club to secure funding for the long-sought-after project.

"I was speechless with the result. It has been a long battle to get the funding for this court, almost a decade in the making," Clarkson said.

The construction of the second netball court is expected to commence in 2025 and will not only enhance the experience for current players but also attract new participants to the sport.

The court will serve as a space for training, matches, and community events.

"Securing federal funding has been a game-changer for us, and we're so grateful," Clarkson said.

"Juniors can see that we're investing in our facilities and their future at this club."

The construction of the second netball court is expected to commence in 2025.

The club hopes that while it enhances the experience of current players at the club, it also can attract new players to the sport.
