Physiotherapist Pulkit Gupta is set to leave Rural Northwest Health (RNH) next month but he's not ruling out returning if the right opportunity comes up.
Mr Gupta started work at the RNH Warracknabeal campus on April 10 and will conclude his duties by July 7, when his 12-week locum contract ends.
He moved to the town alone and is living in RNH accommodation.
“I'll come back later if I get the chance or the time is right,” Mr Gupta said.
“I’ve quite enjoyed staying up here.
"My family is still in Melbourne and I haven’t gone back as much as I thought I would.”
Mr Gupta did his bachelor’s degree in physiotherapy at Charles Stuart University's Albury-Wodonga campus.
Prior to that, he studied for a degree in health science from Monash University, Melbourne.
He said the neighborhood and the staff were both pleasant and he would miss them.
“Everyone was welcoming and lovely here in RNH, especially the staff,” he said.
“When I arrived here they told me about what we have around the area or nearby and things for sightseeing on weekends.
“I'll miss the people, RNH and the locals, as they're very co-operative, nice and caring.
"I'll also miss Jim’s Takeaway.
“Maybe it’d be good to come back later on.
“The community seems very tight, close together, which is lovely.
“I’ve gone to the footy a few times but I don’t play.
"I went to training once but mainly it's just watching."
For the next few weeks, Mr Gupta will continue to work with clients at RNH Warracknabeal.
His clinic is open on Tuesdays to Fridays, from 7.30am to 5.30pm.
