Permanent home for CFA tanks
Council has sought community feedback on leasing land at Warracknabeal and Hopetoun aerodromes for Country Fire Authority (CFA) fire-fighting tanks.

Hopetoun Aerodrome became home to CFA fire-fighting storage tanks in 2017 while storage tanks at Warracknabeal Aerodrome were installed the following year.
The CFA notified council in July that it wished to formalise the current occupancy agreement and was seeking a residence of 10 years with a further option to extend for another 10 years.

"It's really just formalising the process that they have their assests on our land and they wish to remunerate us for having it there," council CEO Tammy Smith said.
Community members were invited to submit their comments ahead of council's final deliberation on the issue.
